Flaxseed Honey Chocolate Chunk Chewy Cookies

These flaxseed honey chocolate chunk cookies are seriously decadent and are soo ohh chewy gooey!!!

Seriously guys, I’m not kidding. I love to take my cookies out of the oven just before they’re done so they are nice and chewy. These cookies are like the half-baked chocolate chip cookies of my dreams.

I used this recipe from Pastry Affair and just modified it a bit.



  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) of sweet cream salted butter
  •  1 cup of light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  •  1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  •  about a cup of roughly chopped up thick dark chocolate bar
  • 1/3 cup of flaxseeds


  1. Cream sugars and butter until fluffy
  2. Beat in egg, honey, and vanilla
  3. In a separate bowl sift together flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt
  4. Slowly beat in dry mixture to wet
  5. Stir in chocolate chunks and flaxseeds
  6. Chill dough for 15 to 20 minutes
  7. Bake at 375 for roughly 8 to 10 minutes (I made half of my batch of cookies really huge so it took me more like 13 minutes to bake them) line baking sheet with parchment or Pam
  8. Let them cool before using a spatula to lift off baking sheet because those suckers will be super soft
  9. Lick your fingers clean of the gooey chocolate as you devour these treats
